Since 2019

A place for parrot people to find each other.

Feather & Flock started as a handful of local bird owners who kept running into each other at the same pet supply store and decided to just start meeting up on purpose instead.

What we're about

Living with a parrot or another exotic bird is a little different from most pet ownership — the commitment is longer, the learning curve is steeper, and good advice can be hard to find locally. We started this group so that people going through the same thing, in the same city, could actually meet each other.

Most of what we do is simple: potlucks, show-and-tell, the occasional workshop or vet Q&A, and outings for birds who are up for it. No dues, no formal membership — just people who happen to share their homes with birds, getting together every so often.

What we care about

Bird welfare first

We don't host buying, selling, or breeding at meetups. If you're looking to add a bird to your home, members are happy to point you toward rescues and reputable options — just ask.

No dumb questions

Half the group has been doing this for over a decade, and half is figuring it out as they go. Both groups are equally welcome, and questions of any kind are the whole point of showing up.

Who runs this

Feather & Flock is volunteer-run by a small group of longtime members who handle scheduling, the Facebook group, and this site in their spare time. If you'd like to help host a meetup or have a venue in mind, reach out through the contact page — we're always glad for the help.

New here? The easiest way in is the Facebook group — that's where meetups get planned and photos get shared.
